Architect: Robert Trent Jones, Jr.

Robert Trent Jones, Jr., a world renowned golf course architect, who has designed more than 130 courses on the continents of Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe and North America.   His style works in harmony with nature and his design philosophy is “great risk/great rewards”.   Mr. Jones, son of the dean of golf course architects, Robert Trent Jones, was born in 1939 and graduated from Yale University.  After postgraduate work in law at Stanford, Mr. Jones returned home and began an apprenticeship to his father in golf course architecture.   Mr. Jones’ courses include the Waikoloa Village Golf Club, The Links at Spanish Bay, Kiahuna Golf Club, Elkhorn Resort Golf Club, Sugarloaf Golf Club and the Princeville Makai Golf Course to name a few.
